General Terms and Conditions
By accepting these General Terms and Conditions for motorhome rental, both parties—the renter and the lessor—undertake to comply with them to their mutual satisfaction. The renter undertakes to treat the vehicle during the rental period with due care and not to deliberately damage it or expose it to hazards.
1. BOOKING AND PAYMENT DEADLINE
1.1 When submitting a motorhome booking request, the renter ticks the box:
“I agree to the general rental terms and conditions”, which means that they have read these terms, understood them, and agree with them. Once the renter receives a confirmed booking from the lessor, everything stated in these terms becomes a legal obligation for both the lessor and the renter.
1.2 In the case of a booking made by phone, it is deemed that the renter is familiar with and agrees to the general rental terms and conditions. The condition for the validity of such a booking is payment of the invoice in accordance with the currency.
1.3 From the booking confirmation, the renter has 3 business days to pay 50% of the total rental amount. Once the lessor receives the payment, the motorhome is reserved. If the lessor does not receive the payment within the deadline stated above, the offer expires and is void.
1.4. The remaining rental amount (the second half of the total rental amount) must be paid no later than 30 days before departure; otherwise, the vehicle booking will be considered cancelled.
1.5. For bookings made less than 30 days before the start of the rental, the full rental amount must be paid within three business days.
2. PRICE
The rental price is calculated according to the rental price list published on our website and varies depending on the vehicle and the dates.
Rental price = (no. of days x daily rate) + fixed costs + additional equipment*
* Additional equipment is charged and included in the rental price only if you select it.
2.1. The price includes:
-
Vehicle rental for the selected or agreed period
-
Fixed costs, including: handover/return, WC chemicals, gas, Slovenian vignette, exterior and interior cleaning.
-
Administrative costs of EUR 50, not specifically itemised (included in the service), incurred upon booking the vehicle
-
22% VAT
-
Mandatory and comprehensive insurance with a 1% deductible.
-
Green Card.
-
Limited mileage (350 km/day) – any excess mileage is charged upon return of the motorhome at €0.30/km.
-
*Selected additional equipment
2.2. Not included in the price:
3. CANCELLATION, EARLY RETURN, FORCE MAJEURE
3.1. Cancellation:
The customer who has rented the motorhome has the right to cancel the booking in writing. In this case, the following will be charged:
-
10% of the total rental value in case of cancellation more than 45 days before the departure date
-
50% of the total rental value in case of cancellation from 44 days to 30 days before the planned departure
-
90% of the total rental value in case of cancellation 30 days or less before the departure date
If the renter cannot take the trip, they may transfer their booking to another person.
If the renter does not collect the motorhome, this is considered a cancellation after the start of the rental period, and the lessor reserves the right to retain the full advance payment for the motorhome rental.
For any change to an already confirmed booking, the lessor will charge the renter EUR 50 in administrative costs. In no case stated in this paragraph is the lessor liable for damages.
3.2 Early return:
If the renter ends the trip earlier than agreed in the contract of their own accord, the lessor is not obliged to refund the amount for the remaining rental days upon return.
The contracting parties agree, and the renter specifically agrees, that if the renter breaches the contract/annex in any provision, the lessor may repossess the vehicle immediately. The renter waives any claims arising from this.
3.3. Force majeure:
3.3.1 In the event of force majeure or an event beyond the lessor’s control that would prevent handover of the vehicle, e.g. earthquake, floods, government ban, epidemics, and other natural disasters, the paid amount will be refunded in the form of a voucher valid for 2 years.
3.3.2 In the event of a damaged or non-drivable motorhome as a result of an accident or a fault caused by the previous renter, the lessor may provide the renter with an equivalent vehicle (model year, brand, equipment) or a vehicle of a higher price and quality standard at no additional cost, or agree on another rental date, or refund the paid amount.
3.3.3 In the event of force majeure or an event beyond the lessor’s control while the vehicle is on the road, the lessor bears no liability (e.g. for faults on the engine, chassis, or living area if the vehicle is regularly serviced). The renter must act with due care.
4. DEPOSIT (security deposit)
No later than the day of collecting the motorhome, the renter must pay a deposit. The deposit depends on the value of the vehicle and ranges from EUR 750.00 to EUR 1,200.00. The deposit is intended to cover any costs that may arise during the rental period, such as:
-
The 1% deductible and loss of bonus on comprehensive and basic insurance in the event of an accident or vehicle theft. If the renter is involved in multiple claims events, they must pay the deductible to the lessor for each claim, regardless of fault. If the renter causes damage to a third party, the entire security deposit is automatically retained. If, in any proceedings, it is established that the renter is not responsible for the claim and the other party or their insurer reimburses all damage to the lessor.
-
minor damage to the vehicle (up to the full deposit amount)
-
missing or damaged equipment
-
damage not covered by comprehensive (kasko) insurance
-
to cover late fees for late return of the motorhome
-
for vehicle damage covered by the insurer without a deductible (natural disasters, break-in, vandalism, fire), a fee of €75 will be charged for handling the claim.

5. COLLECTION, RETURN, CLEANING
5.1. Collection:
The vehicle is collected Monday to Friday between 14:00 and 17:00. If the previous renter does not return the vehicle on time, the lessor will refund the next renter a proportional share of the rental fee until the vehicle is available, or agree to extend the rental period if possible.
Vehicles are handed over clean, with a full fuel tank and one gas cylinder filled with gas.
Upon collection, the entire motorhome is inspected (equipment, mechanics, bodywork, engine, etc.), the operation of the appliances in the motorhome is checked, and a handover report is completed, which forms an integral part of the motorhome rental agreement. The renter is responsible for recording the vehicle’s condition and listing any deficiencies such as damage, missing equipment, etc. All identified damage is photographed and documented.
5.2. Return:
The motorhome must be returned on the last day of the rental between 08:00 and 10:00. Extending the rental is not possible without prior agreement (recorded in the handover report or subsequently by email/SMS). In the event of late return, the renter undertakes to pay:
-
€100 for a delay of up to 4 hours,
-
€350 for a delay of more than 5 up to 12 hours,
-
the full security deposit for a delay of more than 12 hours,

for a delay of more than 24 hours, in addition to the costs defined above, €250 for each further started day of delay.
The renter returns the vehicle in the following condition:
-
empty waste-water tank
-
emptied and thoroughly cleaned WC cassette and toilet bowl + chemicals added
-
full fuel tank (diesel) and AdBlue.
-
motorhome cleaned roughly (ready for thorough cleaning)
If the above items are not complied with, the following will be deducted from the deposit:
-
€80 for WC cleaning
-
€30 for additional cleaning
-
€10 for a wet returned awning
-
€8 for emptying waste water
If the fuel tank is not refilled, the renter will be charged for the fuel costs and EUR 20.00.
If the AdBlue tank is not refilled, the renter will be charged AdBlue at €3.5/l and EUR 10.
Smoking is not permitted in the vehicle. If smoking occurs in the vehicle (and the smell remains in the vehicle), a penalty of EUR 210.00 will be charged.
Upon return, the vehicle’s condition is determined using the handover report and the operation of all devices in the vehicle is checked. All identified deficiencies and damage are recorded in the handover report. The renter is responsible for all deficiencies and damage that were not identified at collection. In the event of force majeure (late return), the renter must notify the lessor by phone of the reason for the delay and the estimated time of return.

8. TRAVEL ABROAD
The motorhome may be used to travel to all European countries, except those in a state of war or where travel is otherwise not recommended. Travel to such countries is only permitted if agreed in advance with the lessor and the vehicle is appropriately insured.
9. REPAIRS
In the event of a motorhome breakdown during the rental period (while travelling), the renter will, by prior arrangement with the lessor, attempt to remedy the fault at the nearest authorised service centre. If the breakdown was not caused by the renter, they shall present the original invoice upon return of the motorhome, which must be issued to the owner of the motorhome. Only in this case will the lessor reimburse the renter for the costs incurred. If, upon return of the vehicle, it is established that any part of the vehicle or equipment has been replaced or lost, the customer will be charged compensation in the amount of three times the market price. The renter is not entitled to request replacement of the vehicle or compensation for transport or other costs incurred during the rental due to a breakdown or traffic accident.
10. CONDUCT IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT
In the event of any incident (traffic accident, theft, break-in, etc.), the renter must report any damage to the police (competent authorities in the country where the incident occurred) and undertakes to cooperate with Slomot d.o.o. in the investigation—otherwise the insurer will not cover the costs and/or will not recognise the comprehensive insurance. The renter must complete the European Accident Statement form and notify the lessor. The renter undertakes to do so immediately, even if the damage is minor, and if they do not act as stated, they will be liable for all consequences and any damage the lessor may suffer as a result. When returning a damaged vehicle, the renter must complete an accident report. The renter must provide all relevant documentation and attach photos clearly showing the damage incurred to the motorhome. The police report must include the names and details of all parties involved, the Green Card number, and all vehicles involved in the traffic accident.
If the renter has complied with all provisions and conditions of this annex/contract, their liability for direct or accidental loss to the vehicle is limited to the deductible of 1% of the vehicle’s new purchase value on the date the damage is paid. If the renter does not report damage from a collision or any other damage to the vehicle and the insurer refuses to pay the claim, the lessor is not obliged to reimburse the costs arising from interruption of the trip, nor to provide a replacement vehicle. In such inconveniences, the renter waives any claim.
The renter covers all costs themselves in the event of:
-
a traffic accident where the motorhome driver was under the influence of alcohol (above 0% blood alcohol content)
-
if the insurer refuses to pay compensation for damage to the rented vehicle for any reason, the renter must cover the damage in full

12. RENTER’S LIABILITY
The renter must handle the motorhome with due care and diligence. The motorhome may be driven exclusively by the renter listed in the contract. The renter must comply with road traffic regulations. The renter undertakes to pay any costs or penalties that may be issued by the authorities to the lessor as the vehicle owner. The renter is liable for any damage caused by their fault up to the amount of the deductible under comprehensive insurance and shall compensate for the loss of bonus. In the event of damage resulting from driving by an unauthorised driver or due to excessive load—i.e., due to any prohibited use—the renter has unlimited liability. If the insurer, for any reason, refuses payment, the renter must also cover the damage themselves. The renter is also responsible for damage not caused by a traffic accident. The renter is obliged to always carry the motorhome documents and keys when leaving the vehicle, as this is a condition for insurance payout under comprehensive insurance in the event of theft. For breach of this obligation, the renter is liable to the lessor under the general rules on liability for damages. All vehicles are equipped with all required documents, and the user is fully responsible for them.
13. LESSOR’S LIABILITY
The lessor ensures that the vehicle is technically sound and free of any fault that could cause an accident. The lessor is not responsible for items left or forgotten in the motorhome. In no event does Slomot d.o.o. assume any liability for damages in connection with this paragraph.
14. CAMPING AND USE OF MOTORHOMES OUTSIDE CAMPSITES
The renter undertakes to comply, in each country they travel to, with the applicable rules regarding permitted overnight stays or camping outside campsites. The renter is responsible for all taxes, fines, and any fees related to incorrect or prohibited parking or camping, and in the event of possible vehicle seizure by the authorities, the renter must reimburse the lessor for all associated costs and compensate the lessor for lost income if such action results in a delay in returning the motorhome to the lessor.
15. PERSONAL DATA (GDPR)
The lessor declares that they will carefully store all personal data obtained from the renter or their travel companions for the purpose of concluding this contract, and will use it exclusively for the performance of the rental agreement. If the parties cannot resolve a dispute by mutual agreement, in the event of non-compliance with contractual clauses or other disputes, the competent court shall be the District Court in Ljubljana.
